🇺🇸 🇬🇧 Leo Labs today announced it was selected to support the launch and operations of the United Kingdom (UK) Space Command's Project Tyche by delivering space tracking and monitoring, and collision avoidance services
In addition to providing Space Situational Awareness (SSA) services for Tyche, LeoLabs will also provide the UK Space Command with Space Domain Awareness (SDA) services, including persistent monitoring of selected high-interest objects.

🇫🇷🇺🇸Thales Alenia Space placed a follow-on order with Redwire Corporation for additional Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) wings for the manufacturer’s Space Inspire line of satellites. 
The follow-on order increases the total number of shipsets that Redwire will deliver based on its existing agreement with Thales Alenia Space, announced in June. Redwire announced the deal on Tuesday, but did not share how many units will be delivered.

💰️ FINANCE, FUNDING AND M&A

🇨🇦 NorthStar Earth & Space recently secured shareholder financing, led by Telesystem Space, which is a joint venture between Telesystem and the Rogers private companies.
This financing will enable NorthStar to accelerate its product development activities related to the firm’s patented space-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Concept of Operations (CONOPS), which supports critical space security with the U.S. Government and other allies.

🛰️ CORE SERVICES

🇺🇸NASA has awarded a contract with a potential value of $476 million to Leidos to continue providing cargo mission engineering and integration services for NASA’s International Space Station (ISS) Program and Artemis campaign.
Leidos will provide analytical and physical processing for NASA missions and perform engineering, maintenance, and operations support. The company will also develop, fabricate, and certify hardware to support mission objectives, and implement the space station and Artemis manifest requirements for launch, return, and disposal, as well as support logistical and integration functions to maintain adequate crew provisions and supplies to sustain human presence in space.

🛰️ PRODUCT, PARTNERSHIPS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

🇩🇪A recent study from the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) at the University of Bremen has investigated the risk of fire on spacecraft. The results show that fires on planned exploration missions, such as a flight to Mars, could spread significantly faster than on the International Space Station (ISS).
The ZARM research team has been experimenting with the propagation of fires in reduced gravity since 2016. The environmental conditions are similar to those on the ISS – with an oxygen level in the breathing air and an ambient pressure similar to that on Earth, as well as forced air circulation.

🇯🇵 🇦🇪 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Axelspace and DNA-GTx marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between the two companies aiming to harness the potential of cutting-edge technologies for the betterment of humanity.
Through this strategic partnership, Axelspace and DNA-GTx will work towards the integration of genomics and satellite technology, leveraging their respective expertise to address critical challenges in fields ranging from agriculture to healthcare.
Under the terms of the MoU, both companies will explore joint research and development initiatives that leverage satellite data to enhance genomic research, crop monitoring, disease surveillance, and environmental conservation efforts.

🇱🇺 🇩🇪 SES has signed a new broadcast deal in Germany. It has extended its partnership with RTL Deutschland which will see SES deliver a wide range of TV channels to audiences across Germany and Austria until the end of the decade.
The agreement, which covers the distribution of SD, HD and UHD TV channels via SES’s prime TV neighborhood at 19.2 degrees East.

🇺🇸 NASA 2 p.m. EDT —Media teleconference with leadership from NASA and SpaceX on the company’s selection to develop and deliver the U.S. Deorbit Vehicle, which will safely move the International Space Station out of orbit and into a remote area of an ocean at the end of its operations.

🇸🇦 🇺🇸 The United States and Saudi Arabia signed a framework agreement to open the door to cooperation with NASA in space science, exploration, aeronautics, space operations, education, and Earth science. NASA announced the agreement on July 16.
The agreement, signed by NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and Saudi Space Agency CEO Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, establishes the overall legal framework to facilitate mutually beneficial collaboration between the two countries.
